Florius has the ambition to be a frontrunner in mortgage land. Winner of many important awards and the fourth largest mortgage lender in the Netherlands, the ABN AMRO subsidiary is just that, thanks in part to years of collaboration with Blueriq. This is reflected during a conversation with Justus Damman (Manager Digital), Johan de Bondt (Digital Expert) and Erik Tolboom (Chief Data Officer at ABN AMRO) of Florius and Nico Vogels (Customer Success manager) and Tim Heijne (Business engineer) of Blueriq about the cooperation. Erik Tolboom: "Blueriq is at the interface between business and technology and that makes them incredibly valuable.
Florius' service is far-serviced. There is no spaghetti IT, thanks to Blueriq's ability to easily interface with other technologies.
The combination of approach and technology makes it possible to deliver something quickly. This allows Florius to respond quickly to developments and opportunities.
All of Florius' efforts to best support customers in their housing journey have not gone unnoticed. Florius has won Golden and Silver Speech Tubes, among others. Blueriq is proud to contribute to this!
In 2007, Florius was created as a trade name of ABN AMRO Hypotheken Groep, after the merger of 2 organizations. When the two companies were merged, two IT systems also came together. Justus Damman is head of Digital and went through this. 'Mortgages are a complex matter, especially if you work with intermediaries. The systems are very specific. That's why at the time we deliberately opted for separate IT at Florius. We wanted to remain scalable, so it became on-site outsourcing. It was decided to transfer all separate components to a platform so that elements could be reused. Blueriq had experience with such a platform. That's how the collaboration started. The cooperation between Florius and Blueriq dates back to 2008. Meanwhile, we are many years and innovative, award-winning solutions further. Solutions that have made customers and advisors happy.
JUSTUS DAMMAN Manager of Digital FloriusBlueriq's expertise allows us to quickly translate business requirements into technology.
In the early days, the Blueriq platform was used exclusively for an "application street. Erik explains: "It acted as a gatekeeper. When a mortgage application was approved, it was routed to Stater (which supports over 40 percent of all mortgages in the Netherlands, also with Blueriq). Nothing more happened.' Meanwhile, customers' (need for) self-reliance was growing. They wanted to be more in control and Florius responded with a my-environment: My Florius. An online environment where customers could view and arrange their own mortgage matters. Justus: 'Banks already had online banking, but in the mortgage domain we were the first with a my-environment. Erik adds: 'It became - and is becoming - more and more a platform on which a continuous dialogue takes place between the triangle of customer, intermediary and Florius. An area of tension, where the question each time is: how do you make sure that what Florius digitizes is interesting, both for the customer, the intermediary and ourselves.'
The mine environment was built in collaboration with Blueriq, with the Blueriq platform as the intelligent basis. Justus: 'What Blueriq brought in was IT knowledge and expertise combined with a thorough knowledge of mortgages. Not only did they provide the underlying framework with which to structure and reuse data, but also knowledge of the market. This allows us to move quickly and makes it possible to translate business wishes directly into technology. We still see this in the cooperation.' Florius also appreciates Blueriq for thinking along about possibilities to offer customers even more convenience. It is not about the technology, but about supporting customers, intermediaries and Florius itself as well and quickly as possible. This is still the starting point of the cooperation between Florius and Blueriq.
Florius is a frontrunner in mortgage land, because customers and intermediaries are central to everything that is developed. A good example of this is offering the possibility to make additional mortgage repayments, via a simple iDEAL payment. Meanwhile, this is standard at many mortgage lenders, but Florius was the first mortgage lender in the Netherlands to offer customers convenience and a time saver in this way.
